Ruben Amorim claimed that he would rather start the 63-year-old goalkeeper coach Jorge Vital than Marcus Rashford in a brutal attack on the attacker of Manchester United, linked to the exit.
Rashford shone again due to his absence when the Red Devils worked to a 1-0 victory on Fulham on Sunday.
The English attacker did not play anymore since the 2-1 victory in the Europa League at Viktoria Plzen on December 12, with Amorim regularly questioning Rashford's professionalism.
The 27-year-old has said that he wants to leave Old Trafford and is associated with Barcelona, West Ham and Tottenham while United is looking for a possible exit route.
United boss Amorim again doubled the reasons why he had left Rashford out of his selection when he spoke at a press conference after the victory in Craven Cottage.
“It is the same, it is always the same reason,” Amorim said when he was asked why Rashford is still being omitted.
“The reason is the training, the way I see what footballers have to do during training, in life, it is every day, every detail.

“So if things don't change, I won't change. It is the same situation for every player. If you do the maximum, if you do the right things, we can use every player.”

“But that's how I prefer it. I turn on Vital before I turn on a player who does not give the maximum every day. So I am not going to change in that area.”
Alejandro Garnacho is also associated with a departure from United in this window, possibly because the club enters the line with the profit and sustainability rules.
Now that Garnacho went through the Academy of Old Trafford, he would count on the balance sheets as a pure profit.
Amorim said it would be waiting for Garnacho, who did start against the Cottagers.
“Everything can happen,” Amorim said when he was asked for Garnacho.
“He improves in every department, how he recovers, he understands the game when he defends. I try to find the best position for him. I don't know what will happen.”
