Ancelotti bids farewell to Real Madrid – ‘I don’t mind if I cry tomorrow’

Real Madrid manager Carlo Ancelotti was welcomed from the Press Room in Valdebebas after his last press conference responsible for the club. Ancelotti was warm and satisfied as he looked back on his second spell that was in charge of Los Blancos, and as noticed by one of the questions, the rare honor to leave Real Madrid with a tribute in his last game.

Although it has been a tense and tough season in the Santiago Bernabeu, the tension in the club has disappeared with the promise of a new dawn this summer. Ancelotti felt love in his last days as Real Madrid manager.

“When an era ends, there is a lot of emotion, but I am not sad either … Very happy because a very important era ends. We let it be happy and satisfied because we knew that, sooner or later, this day had to happen. I had a great time here, with a lot of love and support. Everything went well, a fairly agreement with the club.”

“There was never any fight with my president, much less on the last day. Until now, so well, and now a new era begins. We have won a lot, and I also consider it a success to endure more than 700 press conferences with you. Don't think it has not been so easy, because it has not always been fun.”

He and Luka Modric, who arrived the year before Ancelotti's second spell, will both say goodbye to the fans after their match against Real Sociedad in the Bernabeu.

“It will be the way it should be, it will be very nice. These are exciting days, talking to the players, everyone. The oeuvre is very long. Everything went well thanks to the effort, the work culture at the club, up to the chef chefs who have made my carbonara for a game. These are special days, but there is nothing new in this regard.”

The new Brazilian coach was delighted to share the opportunity with the Croatian, who leaves as the oldest player of Real Madrid, the oldest goal scorer and captain at the age of 39.

“I get emotionally emotional; it is in my genes. If it comes for granted, I don't mind when I cry tomorrow; it will be a beautiful day. I share it with Luka, who has been a huge support during this time. It's a great thing great.”

Anceloti was unable to choose a striking moment, but noticed that comebacks against Chelsea, Manchester City and Paris Saint-Germain held a place in his mind.

“It is very difficult to choose only one night in the Bernabeu. All titles, the final … The nights of the comebacks will be unforgettable forever.”

Although he leaves to take over Brazil, even though he stated earlier that Real Madrid would be his last job, he noticed that he would not see himself managing another club side.

“As a good coach, but time will learn. I think I still feel a lot of affection now. It makes me very satisfied and very happy.”

“My relationship with Madrid will be lifelong. I don't feel like coaching another club after Madrid. The future … I want to do well in the near future.”

Despite the immense pressure, egos and control with which a Real Madrid manager is confronted, Ancelotti thought it was simpler than other jobs.

“Neither the one neither the other is complicated. A coach has a lot of responsibility; this club demanding, and it must be because Madrid has a history that does not allow things to do things in a different way. Question is fundamental; it is an explanation for success. For me here is the easiest thing because you have everything.

He confirmed that Xabi Alonso will be his successor and also noted that he had all the tools for success at the Bernabeu. He will be announced on Monday as the new manager, with the signing sessions of Dean Huijsen and Trent Alexander-Arnold expected him to follow him through the door.
