Ancelotti delivers injury update ahead of RMD’s midweek trip to Liverpool
Real Madrid recorded consecutive victories on Sunday with a 3-0 win at local rival Leganes. It's a result that moves them back into second place in the La Liga standings, while also cutting Barcelona's lead at the top to four points (with one match less played).
According to Marca, Carlo Ancelotti spoke of his delight at the result.
“We changed the position of the attackers, with Mbappé on the outside and he, like Vinicius, did well on the inside. The team managed very well the good feelings we had in the match against Osasuna and we confirmed them today.”
Ancelotti also provided an injury update on Lucas Vazquez and Aurelien Tchouameni ahead of Wednesday's Champions League match against Premier League leaders Liverpool.
“We don't know yet. We will see if Lucas and Tchouameni can recover on Wednesday, and then we will make the decisions at the back.”
Real Madrid looked good against Leganes, although Liverpool will be a completely different story – especially at Anfield. The recovery of Lucas and Tchouameni would be very good news, especially in the case of the former, although Raul Asencio has impressed in his first two games with the first team.
