
Former Everton -manager Carlo Ancelotti wants to reunite with Jarrad Branthwaite by bringing him to Real Madrid.
Branthwaite, 22, leads the shortlist of Real for a new center-back and Ancelotti is a big fan of him from their time together in Goodison Park. The left-feet, who made his senior English debut in June, continues his development at Everton under David Moyes and was impressive during last week's dramatic 2-2 draw with local rivals Liverpool.
It was Ancelotti who handed Branthwaite his debut for Everton shortly after his 18th birthday in 2020, who joined Boyhood Club Carlisle United – who understands Mirror Football, have a sale clause earlier that year. The legendary Italian has since kept an eye on his progress and wants Real to make an offer for him, just as Manchester United made twice in the summer.
The holders of La Liga and Champions League are planning to freshen up their defensive unity, where they were badly hit by injuries this season. Antonio Rudiger, David Alaba and Eer Militao have all had long spells on the sidelines, and two of them are more than 30.
Ancelotti and Bernabeu leaders have identified Branthwaite as a long-term solution, with two other Premier League stars on their shortlist. Real's goals also contains Ibrahima Konate of Liverpool – from contract in Anfield in 2026 – and Bournemouth Prospect Dean Huijsen, who has a release clause of £ 50 million.
Everton wanted £ 75 million in the region last summer, with the two offers from United in the preseason of their asking price. The toffees can be open to the sale of the 22-year-old, despite their recent takeover by the Friedkin Group, before they move to their new stadium at Bramley-Moore Dock.
The expectation is that it is a busy summer on MerseSide because of the amount of players Everton came to the end of their contracts.
