Ancelotti’s side edge out 5-goal thriller against Celta to keep title race alive

Kylian Mbappe and Arda Guler both scored Stunners when Real Madrid claimed a 3-2 victory over Celta Vigo.

The fourth victory of the Champions Real in a row held their title dream with four games to go into the Spanish top flight.

The men of Carlo Ancelotti broke the impasse shortly after half an hour of half an hour when Guler took a short corner for a two with Lucas Vazquez before sending an excellent left shot from a tight corner through a hole between a hole between defenders.

Mbappe doubled Real's lead six minutes later when the lobed ball of Jude Bellingham unleashed the Frenchman, who ran half of the opposition and shot a shot with the right foot of the edge of the box.

Guler's Through Ball set up Mbappe's second goal in three minutes in the second half, the 26-year-old finds the top right corner to score his 24th competition goal of the season.

But Celta Vigo, who only lost two of their previous 11 league games and scored almost early with two Marcos Alonso opportunities, were not willing to give up.

The visitors started a fightback with their first goal in 69 minutes, Javi Rodriguez punished the real defense because he did not erase Sotelo's attempt from a corner with a close-range finish.

Williot Swedberg scored the second goal of Celta Vigo seven minutes later when Iago Aspas found him in the box with an accurate ball.

Under pressure, Real did well to see the last minutes, while Courtois made crucial saves to refuse Pablo Duran and Aspas to protect the hosts' lead.

Real remains four points behind La Liga leaders Barcelona prior to El Clasico next week.

“The most important thing was the victory. We played a good first half, but then we fell apart … They are a great team and they are in trouble,” midfielder Federico Valverde told Real Madrid TV.

“Let's prepare now for the next Sunday,” Courtois added, referring to the upcoming Barcelona match.
