Thomas Tuchel has warned that England should prepare to suffer in the heat of next summer's world cup.
And everyone will have to tolerate the pain and boredom to see them coming there.
Argent 173 in the world against a small nation, one of the supposed favorites for the 2026 tournament was on the way to one of the most embarrassing results in their history.
Just like the predecessors of England Steve McClaren and Fabio Capello in 2007 and 2008, Tuchel saw an English team of the half-time goalless reaching in an away match against Andorra in Barcelona.
As in those earlier competitions, the three lions did enough to prevent humiliation.
But just just. After scoring in qualifications against the powerful Albania and Latvia, Captain Harry Kane expanded his record by poaching the 72nd goal of his international career early in the second half.
And the Tuchel team seemed satisfied to get away with the smallest victory margin in seven meetings with a country that only won 14 games since he was recognized by FIFA in 1996.
If the 7,000 English fans who paid fortunes to come here – and those who look home – felt briefly changed, they should not have any illusions.
There will be much more the same in the rest of this qualifying campaign and again at the World Cup of next year – because Tuchel will certainly endure the team as a group K winners.
An extensive tournament of 48 National in 2026 means a larger number of lower quality teams that will probably follow the same (fully justified) approach as Andorra.

And not just in the group stage. With an extra knockout round, there will be more Borefests of attacks against defense that must be endured by players and spectators.
All in the stifling heat of the summer in the US, Canada and Mexico.
Despite Tuchel's pre-match caution from too much, the English boss could not have been satisfied with how his team performed. Not with better opponents and hotter awaiting them.
Tuchel held England in a formation that was in principle 4-1-4-1, but with Liverpool's Curtis Jones who turned back to midfield from the right and Jude Bellingham was sometimes next to Kane in a 4-4-2.
Jones had blocked a target -related effort already in the sixth minute.
Andorra goalkeeper Iker Alvarez is the son of head coach Koldo, himself a former little who was beaten 16 times in his four games against England.
Alvarez JNR was called into action by Noni Madueke and hit the left shot of the winger, and Dad can be pretty happy with how his team applied himself.
He would have been less satisfied when Reece James Chelsea teammate Madueke and his cross discovered through the Andorra Box.
But the serious touch of Jones and Kane's bad shot wide leaves the minnows of the hook.
And that was for considerable opportunities, because England could not move the ball quickly enough to pull disciplined opponents out of shape.
An annoying 46 minutes ended into a choir of anger of the English fans.
A nice pass from Jones Kane allowed a shot that saved Alvarez, but Madueke collected the rebound and crossed for the captain to score up close.
Would England continue and try to achieve the convincing victory that Andorra replacement Marc Vales told that Sunsport was the kind of result that you would expect between two of such non -uncompromising teams?
At the end of a long and tiring season – or not, in the case of those who have to travel to the club World Cup – that was always unlikely.
Replace Ebereechi Eze Alvarez forced into a good rescue with a header and Madueke, who always tried to make things happen, came close to the time.
But there was little else to encourage the traveling fans.
England remained a moment of madness away from the worst result in their history. It almost arrived when Andorran Sub Guillaume Lopez found room and blocked a shot by Ezri Konsa.
But all credit to Andorra, who also continued to defend.
The victory for them was avoiding a heavy defeat. This was perhaps their best day since the beating of Hungary in a world cup qualification in 2017. Maybe it was even better.
The only thing you could say for England was that they at least managed to get away from a no-win situation with three points.
