Andre Onana will get an escape route from Manchester United by clubs in Saudi Arabia – but wants to stay and fight for his place.
The Cameroon International keeper was completely smiling when he returned to United's Carrington's head office on Monday after he had the time to remove his head by Ruben Amorim.
Baas Amorim left him out of the team for Sunday's 4-1 defeat in Newcastle after his nightmare display in Lyon last week.
But Onana was convinced that he would be back on Thursday in the starting line-up for the quarterfinals of the Europa League quarterfinals in Old Trafford.
Understudy Altay Bayindir, 27, also struggled in St James' Park and gave the tone their fourth goal with a sad permission.
So Amorim will probably adhere to the plan and put the club's season in the hands of the former Inter Milan stopper.
Onana, 29, looked relaxed and happy when he rode one of his representatives in the training and stopped signing signatures outside.
He recently changed agent – a movement that caused speculation, he could look to leave United for less than two years after he joined them in a £ 47.2 million deal.
Onana became the target of Saudi clubs before he left Inter for the Theater of Dreams in July 2023 and there is still interest in the kingdom.
However, it is understood that he is not currently looking for Amorim's wrestlers and is planning to prove the critics wrong and to restore himself.
Sunday's Tyneside on Sunday confirmed that the Red Devils will undergo their worst season in the history of Premier League.
They have 38 points with six more games left, so their 58 count cannot beat the 2021-22 season.
But they could still be eligible for the Champions League to win the Europa League.
And skipper Bruno Fernandes has promised to repay the fans against Lyon with the draw at 2-2.
He said: “On Thursday we will fight back and do something special.
“The fans have always been to our side – without them we would be in a worse position. It's time to pay them back.”

In the meantime, real betis is urging the move of Antony permanent after an encouraging start of his loan in Spain.
Other clubs have taken note of his form since the switch in January, so Betis will have to find the money for the winger, 25, which United spent £ 85.5 million in 2022.
United has also confirmed that club director Jean-Claude Blanc has taken.
The Frenchman will play a new advisory role because he remains the Chief Executive of Ineos Sport.
