Andy Robertson is confident to contribute for years in Liverpool, even though the club is linked to 'almost every left back in the world'.
The 31-year-old admitted that his performances have sometimes fallen this season, but he believes that the campaign has been largely positive. That fact has been confirmed in the number of important games that it has started this period.
Yet speculation about his future was widespread, with his level apparently good shortage of the global highlights that he exhibited during his seven-year-old Anfield residence.
But Robertson, who will lead Scotland to a two-legged Nations League play-off against Greece this week, acknowledges that attention comes to the territory of playing for one of the largest clubs in the world.
And he continues to trust to play for the Reds, even if the club signs one of the defenders with which they are connected this summer.
“I think we are linked to almost every left back in the world,” he said. 'That comes with playing with one of the best clubs in the world. I look back on these eight years that I have had when starting left in that club and I feel a lot proud.
'Your time is coming and I don't think it's my time yet, but even if we bring someone in, then it is. I will always support myself. Of course, this season there have been a few moments when I have not covered myself in glory, but some things have been taken out of proportion.
'I think the performance levels have been there for me. I think I have had a relatively good season, but one thing that people will say about me is that I have been pretty consistent, so if you make a few mistakes, people can talk.
“That is the world in which we live, that is the Premier League. Everyone has an eyes on you, everyone has an opinion. It is what it is, but I always have faith in my ability. I showed that during my career, but especially during my time in Liverpool. '
Robertson is one of the long-term Liverpool core to approach their second Premier League title, but the hope for further silverware was poured after a gloomy week in which the Reds from the Champions League was eliminated and defeated in the Carabao Cup final.
The defender revealed that connecting with his Team Mats from Scotland helped him to reach the disappointment.
“For many reasons, it was not meant last week,” he added. 'But it is always great to meet the Scotland boys, always an honor, always good to see new faces and take a break from a real intense time in Liverpool.
“It was fun, it made it easier to overcome the disappointment.”
