Ange Postecoglou gives worrying Dominic Solanke update – as £65m striker joins Tottenham’s lengthy injury list

Ange Postecoglou has provided an update on Dominic Solanke's condition following his recent injury.

After picking up a knee problem while training, Tottenham's £65million summer signing missed the club's defeat to Everton last weekend.

The England international was also left out of the matchday squad as Spurs secured three points against Hoffenheim in the Europa League on Thursday.

Solanke's absence has fueled the view that he may be the latest casualty in what has already been an injury-hit campaign for Postecoglou in his second season in north London.

Speaking after Thursday's clash, the Australian admitted he will be without the striker for the coming weeks.

He said: 'All information now is that we are around six weeks.'

The latest projections will see Solanke miss the club's final group game in Europe against Swedish side Elfsborg next week.

Solanke will also be unavailable for selection while Spurs can defend their EFL Cup lead against Liverpool on February 6.

The news will come as a major blow, with tracks already without several key stars due to injury, including Guglielmo Vicario, Micky van de Ven and Cristian Romero.

Solanke is currently Spurs' second-highest scorer in his first campaign at the club.

The 27-year-old has set up 10 goals from 29 appearances in all competitions and registered six assists.
