‘Angry’ Perisic demands united front from PSV in Arsenal clash

The players of PSV have to start fighting for each other if they want to have a chance against Arsenal in the Champions League, says Ivan Perisic.

Dutch giants PSV go in the game after consecutive defeats to continue Eagles last week.

PSV suffered two harmful defeats to continue Eagles last week, for the first time in the semi -final of the KNVB Cup before he lost in the Eredivisie on Saturday.

That second loss left them eight points on drift from leaders Ajax.

And perisic was mainly the lack of unity of the team in their recent impressions.

“We are not a team,” said Perisic, who scored as PSV Juventus conquered in the play-offs to reach the Champions League last month.

“We are not doing well. We have to be a team more, which we are not now. We are not fighting for each other and that makes me angry.

“We have to change so quickly. We have to give everything until the end of the season, because it is not over yet.”

Persic said that the players had discussed the problem because their slump in domestic form contrasted with progress in Europe.

“Why are we not a team? We talked about that. We create enough opportunities and score enough, but without the ball we have to do it better. We have to fight and run for each other,” added the veteran campaigner.

Coach Peter Bosz said: “There are many small things that now prevent you from winning, but those little things are important.”

Monday's press conference both saw the majority of questions about the domestic form of PSV instead of their prospects against Arsenal, which they host in the first stage in the Philips Stadium.

“I understand that the deterioration of PSV is now bigger news than the game we will play against Arsenal tomorrow, but that is a big shame for football fans,” said Bosz.

“We are among the best 16 in Europe. It is impressive that we are here.”

Arsenal has confronted the PSV of Bosz in the Champions League twice before, defeated them at home 4-0 and left 1-1 in the group stage of last season.

The Gunners have only lost one of their last 14 games against Dutch parties in the Champions League, although that defeat came against PSV in 2007.
