Barcelona attacker Ansu Fati has completed his first press tasks as AS Monaco player after he joined the Principality Side in Lian this summer. Fati, 22, hopes to get his career back on the right track, after a few years offside due to injuries and competition.
Fati left Barcelona frustrated by his lack of football under Hansi film, but said that Member of Monaco was motivated by the desire to enjoy his football again.
“No revenge here: I am here to enjoy football, a game that I have not had to play for a while. I am here to enjoy, my best to contribute and hopefully we can do great things. Returning to the national team? That depends on my performance,” he said Sport.
He also spent a year on loan in Brighton and Hove Albion on loan, but also struggled for minutes at the Amex. Nevertheless, Fati explained that he had enjoyed his loan spell in the Premier League.
“To be honest, I think the changes are for the better. Of course I will be here this season, but I will always be grateful to Barça. I had my experience at Brighton: many think it was bad, but it was a great experience. I started well, then I was wounded and I had no continuity.
This season Fati would like to emphasize that he is physically good and has no persistent fitness problems.
Physically, I'm very good. I have finished the season training hard, so I feel good. “
Yet he seemed less sure when he was asked if the mental side of the game, and to come back from injuries, had made him struggle for confidence.
“Well, I don't know. I try to be as good as possible, and I believe in God … In the end what happens to me is something that I can't control, but I can minimize the risks, and that is what I do. I try to work as hard as possible to be as good as possible, and even if things are not working, keep fighting and I find my moment again and I enjoy again.”
Barcelona extended the Fati deal until 2028 before the relocation of the loan, which will partially reduce its impact on their salary limit. Although Monaco has a purchase option of € 11 million on Fati, it seems to be a desire to maintain control of the future of Fati. Barcelona would undoubtedly hate the fact that he would miss Fati if he returned at his best – or miss a major transfer costs.
