Newcastle has agreed a fee of £ 55 million to sign Anthony Elanga from Nottingham Forest.
Although the finer points of the deal still have to be sorted, it is clear that the framework has been agreed.
Newcastle launched an range of £ 55 million at the end of last week and since then conversations have been aimed at the structure of payments.
Elanga is ready to travel to Newcastle to undergo a medical and complete the move once things have been completed.
He is supposed to be enthusiastic to play for a club in the Champions League.
