Anthony Hernandez submitted BJJ champ to cash as one of the biggest UFC upsets of all time

Anthony Hernandez defeated a Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu-Aas in his own game to make himself a household name in the middleweight division.

UFC Middleweight Anthony Hernandez was an important underdog that introduced its UFC 258 confrontation with Rodolfo Vieira. If the fight were to come to the ground, it was thought that Vieira would have a field day with Hernandez, but Hernandez set up a performance of your life that sounded itself like a rising star.

Hernandez was in a peculiar place in the UFC Middleweight Division that entered its UFC 258 with Vieira. After a knockout loss of 39 seconds against Kevin Holland in his previous fight, Hernandez was demonstrably in a 'must-win situation' against Vieira.

Vieira and Hernandez went back and forth in their opening round with Hernandez, a few dangerous grab scenarios survived early. But in round 2, Hernandez drowned an exhausted Vieira and submitted the Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu champion with an arm-in guillotine choke.

Anthony Hernandez tapped Rodolfo Vieira with a broken hand

It is remarkable that Hernandez's won despite a broken right hand.

“I was able to return and then on the feet I would get his A-because he is a grappler,” Hernandez said in an interview after fighting MMA Junkie Radio. “One of the right hands. I am pretty sure that the hand broken, it just became numb. It was like, 's -but it is a fight, you have to continue, it's a proud thing. The victory of Hernandez op Vieira started what is now a six-fighter-winning series in the middleweight division. He has won recent victories over Michel Pereira, Roman Kopylov and Edmen Shahbazyan.

Anthony Hernandez is confronted with a well -known enemy in UFC Seattle Return

This Saturday, Hernandez will collide with a former LFA rival in UFC Seattle. Hernandez and Brendan All collide in the Co-Main event of UFC Seattle, because both talented contenders are looking at the ranking.

In his sixth career fight, Hernandez Allen defeated all by a unanimous decision at LFA 32 for the then LFA Middleweight Championship. Hernandez earned a UFC contract in his next fight on the Contender Series of Dana White in 2018.

A victory on all this weekend could possibly set up Hernandez for a collision with Israel Adesanya, which he called after his most recent victory over Pereira. In the meantime, Hernandez is about to have a title shot and is a matchup nightmare for the best contenders of the division.
