Antoine Griezmann set for Atletico Madrid recall at Real Valladolid
Diego Simeone is about to bring Antoine Griezmann back into Atletico Madrid's starting XI from Real Valladolid.
The Argentine coach opted to rest Griezmann for the UEFA Champions League win at Sparta Prague in midweek.
Griezmann came off the bench in the Czech Republic with a 30-minute cameo as part of a plan to freshen him up in the coming weeks.
The 33-year-old remains crucial for Simeone in the Spanish capital, with six goals and six assists in all competitions so far this season, in addition to 12 starts in 14 La Liga games.
According to reports from Diario AS, Griezmann took part in training as part of what is expected to be this weekend's starting XI on the road at Real Valladolid in league action.
A win for Simeone's forwards will keep them in touch in the title race and extend a six-match winning run since the end of October in the league, cup and European competitions.
