Antonio trapped in wrecked Ferrari for almost an HOUR

PREM star Michail Antonio had to be cut from the wreckage of his £260,000 Ferrari after a horrific road accident yesterday.

West Ham star Michail was airlifted to hospital after firefighters took almost an hour to free him from the car crash.

Mikhail is said to be in a serious condition after hitting trees at Theydon Bois, Essex.

Shocking footage showed his £260,000 Ferrari FF crashing into trees after leaving the road at 12.50pm.

Firefighters, alerted by other drivers, tried to free the 34-year-old attacker before 1:45 p.m.

Father-of-four Antonio was flown to a hospital in central London.

Ex-wife Debbie traveled from her home in Manchester to his bedside.

A source told The Sun on Sunday: “He is in a serious condition.

“He is conscious and communicating, but everyone at the club is very concerned. We're all praying he gets through this.”

Bystanders reported seeing gray smoke pouring from the car which crashed in Theydon Bois, Essex – near the home of West Ham owner David Sullivan.

One said: “There were other cars stopped and people were calling 999 on their phones.

“The weather was terrible, rain, wind and very slippery on the road. It did not appear that another car was involved. It seemed like things had gotten out of hand.

“I only found out who he was later. I hope he is doing well.”

A motorist who passed the accident added: “The right wing was ripped off, as well as the right front wheel and driver's door.

“I saw firefighters having to cut away parts of the car to get it out.”

The Essex County Fire and Rescue Service said: “Crews were called at 1:02 p.m. Firefighters said a man was trapped in his car and attempted to free him around 1:45 p.m.

“The victim has been handed over to the ambulance service.”

The Ferrari FF was the fastest four-seater car in the world when it was introduced in 2011.

It can reach a speed of 330 km/h and go from 0 to 100 km/h in 3.7 seconds.

West Ham said in a statement: “We can confirm that Michail Antonio is in a stable condition following a road traffic accident in the Essex area.

'Thoughts and prayers'

“Michail is conscious and communicating and is currently under close supervision in a hospital in central London.

“The thoughts and prayers of everyone at the club are with Mikhail, his family and friends.”

“The club will make no further comment this evening but will provide a further update in due course.”

West Ham take on Wolves in their next Premier League match tomorrow night.

South London-born Antonio crashed a Lamborghini in 2019.

He started his career at non-league Tooting & Mitcham.

He joined the Hammers from Nottingham Forest in 2015 for £7 million and is the London club's all-time top scorer in the Premier League with 68 goals in 268 games.

He was picked for England teams three times, but never played. In 2021, he transferred to Jamaica, where his parents are from.

He is divorced from Debbie, whom he married in 2017, and fronts the BBC Footballer's Football podcast with Newcastle's Callum Wilson.

Essex Police are investigating and have appealed for witnesses and dashcam footage.

Police said: “We were called to Coppice Row, Epping, shortly after 12.50pm on Saturday, December 7, following reports of what is believed to be a single vehicle collision involving a Ferrari.

“Emergency services attended the scene and the driver was taken to hospital.”
