Antony blames Manchester’s WEATHER for poor form at Old Trafford

Brazilian winger Antony has revealed one of the reasons why he was struggling with Manchester United.

The 25-year-old was immediately a hit at Real Betis with four goals and four assists in his first 10 games for the Spanish side.

His recent form was in stark contrast to his miserable saying in Manchester after an £ 85 million move from Ajax in 2022.

Antony only scored 12 goals in 96 performances for the Red Devils, and he says that the bad English weather has contributed to his struggles.

“The sun here helps a lot, and the city (Seville) is better than Manchester.”

Antony scored his last goal for Betis in their conference competition gain on Vitoria on Thursday.

Earlier this month, United Baas Ruben Amorim claimed that the former Ajax star was unable to treat the physicality of the Premier League.

'If you play against every team in England, the physicality is there. If you don't have any physicality, you will struggle a lot, “Amorim told Rio Ferdinand on TNT sports.

“Antony is now so much better in Spain. Are [because of] Many factors, but I guarantee that it is physicality. '

As part of their loan agreement with United, Betis agreed to cover a large part of his salary – allegedly more than £ 100,000, which amounts to 84 percent of his income from the Red Devils.

Betis has already made it clear that they are open to keep Antony on a permanent deal, while United will now be looking for a part of the sum they have spent to sign it in 2022.
