Antony is impressed by his loan tint with real betis and now the Spanish club hopes to sign him permanently, with his future at Manchester United who looks increasingly doubtful
Real Betis Chief Manu Fajardo has confirmed that the club hopes to hold Antony after the excellent start of Manchester United Flop on loan of life at the La Liga Club. The Brazilian lost his confidence in Old Trafford, but has been a relief at Betis.
Antony scored four and helped twice after 13 performances under former Manchester City Baas Manuel Pellegrini, after he had rediscovered his best form.
The 25-year-old previously made an excavation at United after he admitted that he had another smile on his face in Spain after he was frozen by Erik ten Hag and his successor Ruben Amorim.
There have been question marks about his future after his success with Betis, where the player will probably not have a future under Amorim after he did not start a competition match for United this season.
And now Betis Chief Fajardo has spoken about his future by saying that the club would like to sign Antony permanently and “everything possible” to make that happen.
“It is a source of satisfaction on a personal level, but it is the result of teamwork,” Fajardo told Mundo Deportivo when he was asked about the excellent form of Antony at Betis so far. Although I am responsible for the sporting direction, many people are involved in this signing. They are still early days, but we will try to do everything possible to keep enjoying Antony in different ways. “
Antony started with every game in which he played since he arrived at Betis after he had become an important player under Pellegrini, causing the team to led to eight victories in all competitions. He helped them in sixth place in the La Liga table and is part of the team that was implemented to the quarterfinals of the UEFA Conference League.
In February he spoke about his struggles at United and how Betis had helped to eliminate his confidence. He said: “I didn't play much, but I worked hard. I had to be happy with myself. The best version of being happy with myself is the most important thing. I played very little in Manchester, but I am grateful to them and also for the coach who spoke to me.”
He added: “The most important thing is that I found myself again. But when I say that I have found myself here, I am happy, the people are like us in Brazil. The sun helps a lot. I am very happy here. I wake up with a smile every day and that is very important.”
Pellegrini said he could not understand why Antony was not advanced in United and said: “The most important thing has been his attitude and his self -criticism. If they paid so much money for him, it is because he was a player of a large level, who could not perform for me for reasons that were unknown to me at Manchester United.
“It is a revenge in itself to show that he is a much more mature player. I spoke to him a lot to make him calm, without wanting to show great things, but to keep it simple.
“He is a great player who does important things for the team, and I hope he will continue at that level until the end of the season because he will help us a lot.”
