Antony gives damning five-word assessment as he breaks silence on Man Utd exit

Manchester United winger Antony has given his verdict on his move to Real Betis.

The 24-year-old has arrived in Spain as he prepares to complete his move to the LaLiga club until the end of the season.

Antony has had a difficult time at United since joining from Ajax for £86 million in 2022.

In total, he scored twelve goals and provided five assists in 96 appearances for United.

According to Fabrizio Romano, Betis will cover 84 percent of Antony's £200,000-a-week salary.

The move will include an option for Betis to sign Antony permanently.

Antony has stated that he is 'so happy' to be working with Real Betis.

As Relevo reported, he told reporters at the airport: “I'm so happy, I'm ready.”

Antony will be looking forward to a new challenge having not played a single league match for United this season.

Olympiacos had previously expressed an interest in signing Antony on loan, but Mail Sport understands he did not want to play for the Greek club.

Real Betis are currently in twelfth place in LaLiga and have also progressed to the knockout stages of the Europa Conference League play-offs, where they will face Gent.

Antony will want to play regularly and show the form that led to United signing him.

After initially playing a prominent role for United under Erik ten Hag, Antony saw his playing time reduced.

Although he has been a substitute under Ruben Amorim in recent times, the consensus is that now is the right time for him to leave.

Antony won the FA Cup with United last season, after winning the League Cup the previous season.

During his time at Ajax, Antony won two Eredivisie titles and the KNVB Cup.
