Manchester United Flop Antony has proven that the Premier League is the best competition in the world with his loan movement to La Liga, says Clinton Morrison.
Despite his impressive Stint at Ajax under Erik ten Hag, Antony struggled for a stamp to put in the Premier League after his no less than £ 86 million movement.
His overwhelming versions only yielded 12 goals and five assists in nearly 100 games for the Red Devils, so that the new Ruben Amorim manager on loan him to Real Betis, where he started to find his feet.
Ex -Premier League Ace Morrison believes that the challenges of Antony and the subsequent revival are an indication of how challenging the English top flight is and how difficult it is to adapt – serving as a warning for other players who out by the Red Devils abroad are directed.
“A player like Antony, he came in – nowhere almost good enough,” Morrison told Freebets.com. “I know that he went to Real Betis and does it so well in real betis. So that just shows me that the Premier League is the best competition in world football. It is the hardest to adjust.”
Despite a controversial red card called his last performance in La Liga, Antony kicked off his Spanish journey with an impressive two goals and two assists in just four games. Morrison argues that this not only emphasizes the challenge to excel in the Premier League compared to other competitions, but also underlines the poor recruitment strategy at Old Trafford.
“Recruitment must be better,” he maintained. “I am not in that football club. So I don't know what is happening in that football club. But I think recruitment has not been good enough at Man United. And that's why they are struggling.
“It just doesn't look good where they are in the competition. We are talking about Man United Football Club, one of the largest, if not the largest team in world football.
“It will take two or three transfer toys until Ruben Amorim can get the players, and people can buy how he wants to play. So it will be a struggle for Man United fans. And I think they accept that.”
With United, who is currently in 15th place in the Premier League, Morrison is also ensuring that part of the problem is the lack of fit of the team at Amorim's Tactics – emphasizes that new signing sessions should be a match for the demands of the Best competition of the world, the Manchester Evening News reports.
“Come in and change his style so quickly, the players who have not adapted,” concluded Morrison. “He loves his 3-4-3 that some players I am watching, cannot play. They have no wingbacks that can go and do the work that did his wingbacks at Sporting Lisbon.
“They don't have the two midfielders who can cover the ground, and they don't have a center ahead such as Viktor Gyokees and what he did at Sporting Lisbon. There are many things.”
