Arman Tsarukyan shares brutally honest take on Michael Chandler vs Paddy Pimblett ‘hype fight’

Arman Tsarukyan does not think that Michael Chandler and Paddy Pimblett are at his level.

On UFC 314 on April 12, Paddy Pimblett will take his toughest test so far when he clashes with the former UFC light weight Title Challenger, Michael Chandler.

Immediately after the fight was announced, Chandler sent a warning to Pimblett and claimed that he would take the frustrations of his last fight on the Brit.

Despite the warning from 'Iron' Mike, Pimblett has stated that Chandler is only the first part of his three-man Hitlist plan, with 'The Baddy' hopeful to secure a fight against Ilia Topuria.

Arman Tsarukyan Labels Pimblett vs Chandler as 'Just A Hype Fight'

The lightweight division to the top is in a bit of a strange position with old contenders that still take places in the top five.

One of whom does not fall into the 'old' bracket, but occupies a rank one in the division, is Arman Tsarukyan.

'Ahalkalakets' missed his long -awaited title shot against Islam Makhachev on UFC 311 last January when Tsarukyan pulled out of the fight the day earlier.

Unfortunately for the 28-year-old Dana White stated that he would not get another title shot, so he wondered what his next step could be.

While he is still on the sidelines, Tsarukyan has given his opinion about the coming fight between Chandler and Pimblett, possibly an online feud with Chandler.

“I don't know (actually), they are both not good, so I don't follow them, it's like a 50/50 fight, it's just a hype fight, I don't look at their fights because they are not at my level,” Tsarukyan told the SchMO.

“They are top 5 hunters or real contenders battles (what I am looking at),” he continued.

Tsarukyan believes that Ilia Topuria will get the next lightweight title shot

Although Justin Gaethje achieved an impressive victory over Rafael Fiziev last weekend at UFC 313, Tsarukyan believes that Ilia Topuria will have the next lightweight title shot.

Topuria recently left this featherweight title while he continues to strive for a fight against Makhachev. Despite the MakHeven team that Gaethje is labeled as the 'ideal' next opponent, Tsarukyan thinks that the promotion will strike while the iron is hot.

“I think so, (Topuria will be the next one) and I am open to everyone of the top five, I don't want to fight anyone from the top 10 because I am the number one competition and I have to fight for the title,” Tsarukyan said.
