The summer of Liverpool has been busy, but the transfers of the Premier League look like they are still doing work on ins and outs before the transfer window closed closed
Liverpool -Manager Arne Slot is not ready to have Federico Chiesa Anfield left, it is said. The Italy -International struggled for the last term in the last term, but the departure of Luis Diaz and Darwin Nunez could offer him more opportunities.
The Reds have been busy this summer and added Florian Wirtz and Hugo Ekitike, among others. They may not be done with a renewed bid for Alexander Isak on the cards.
Isak is supposed to have told Newcastle that he played his last game for the club. However, Liverpool must not yet meet the asking price of the Magpies of approximately £ 150 million.
The Reds have collected more than £ 100 million by the sale of Diaz and Nunez, who came to Bayern Munich and Al Hilal respectively. There is an interest in Chiesa, which connected £ 12.7 million last summer, but Slot has other plans.
According to Gazzetta Dello Sport (via e -mail), Slot believes that Chiesa is needed in Anfield – at least for the time being. Whether a movement for Isak is changing that can still be seen.
Chiesa's first season in Anfield was a difficult, with injuries that limit his involvement. Yet he spoke about having no regret after ending the campaign at a Premier League champion.
“The year is over. But it is an experience that I would do again,” Chiesa told Corriere Dello Sport in June (via the Liverpool Echo). “Soon I will sit down with the club, (my agent) Fali (Ramadani) and my family to find the best solution. I would not mind staying in Liverpool.”
Napoli and Inter Milan are both connected to Chiesa, who spent time in Juventus earlier. Slot, however, stood in the way of an exit in January and is expected to do the same this summer after the sale of Diaz and Nunez and the tragic death of Diogo Jota.
The potential arrival of Isak, however, would increase the options of the Reds. Although mainly a no. 9, the Swede could be part of a liquid front three with any combination of Ekitike, Mohamed Salah and Cody Gakpo – with Wirtz also an option from the left.
However, a man who could leave this summer is Harvey Elliott. RB Leipzig and Tottenham are both connected to the English under-21 star of England after he saw his chances in the past term.
“Look, if I had it my way, I would be here for the rest of my career, it's as simple as that, I love everything at the club,” Elliott told the Anfield Wrap in July
“But at the same time I have to be a bit selfish with myself and see what is best for me. I have great ambitions. I want to go to the World Cup. As a player I want to continue to be successful.”
