ARSENAL reminded Liverpool that the title race is far from over with a narrow victory over Manchester United.
The Merseysiders dropped points earlier in the evening thanks to a thrilling draw against Newcastle at St James' Park.
And the Gunners closed the gap between themselves and the Reds with a 1-0 win over the visiting Red Devils.
Mikel Arteta's troops took the lead again from a set-piece, with Jurrien Timber heading them ahead in the 54th minute with a deft header near the post after a Declan Rice deflection.
And they doubled the lead from another corner in the 73rd minute thanks to William Saliba, who knew little about the goal.
The victory over United puts Arsenal seven points behind leaders Liverpool, who drew 3-3 at St James' Park.
The defeat for United was the first of Ruben Amorim's short reign in charge of the visitors.
