Arsenal 3-0 Real Madrid: Rice scores TWO free-kicks as Gunners crush UCL holders

Declan Rice scored two excellent second half of free kicks while Arsenal Real Madrid surprised in the quarter -finals of the Champions League at Emirates Stadium to take an advantage of three goals in the second stage.

Mikel Arteta had asked the Arsenal fans to arrive early to create an impressive atmosphere in the stadium, and the team responded by starting the game quickly with a number of dangerous crosses to Madrid's penalty area.

It took until the 20th minute before Madrid had their first real chance, when Vinicius JR curled an attempt wide.

But Rice took control of the draw for Arsenal in the second half.

The Gunners were the better side all evening and took the lead in the 58th minute, when Rice curled the first of two excellent free kicks around the Real Madrid wall in the corner of the just past Thibaut Courtois.

Rice scored his second of the night with a free kick of equal quality 12 minutes later and bends a long -distance effort in the top right corner to leave Madrid stunned.

Mikel Merino then ensured that it was a memorable night for Arsenal when he curled a shot in the bottom corner on the inside the area, just five minutes later.

It only got worse for Madrid when Eduardo Camavinga was sent in a stop time for picking up a second yellow card.

Since the 2008-09 season, Arsenal has not reached the semi-final of the Champions League, but they have given themselves a huge opportunity to continue with this result to the last four.
