Arsenal and Manchester United went abroad this summer in their search for a new striker, but one expert thinks they should have considered a movement for Darwin Nunez
Dean Saunders believes that Arsenal and Manchester United may have missed a trick by not 'taking a chance' on Darwin Nunez instead of following deals for Viktor Gyokees and Benjamin Sesko this summer.
A large number of Premier League clubs, including De Gunners, United and Liverpool, have spent the summer looking for a new Nr. 9. Arsenal has since signed Gyokees with United who now closes a deal for Sesko. Liverpool himself wants to pick up Alexander Isak.
Nunez was tipped to leave Anfield on his way to the summer after he had scored only five times in the top of the top last season.
And although he has been associated with other clubs in England in recent months, the Uruguay star is ready to move to the Saudi Pro League with Al-Hilal.
But while Nunez is preparing to undergo a medical before he completes his relocation of £ 46 million, Saunders has wondered why the domestic rivals of Liverpool decided to pursue a movement for the rush.
“Nunez, he's for picking up. Would you rather not have a nunez than Sesko and Gyokeres?” Saunders said on talks. “They paid a lot of money for them and I thought:” He is for grabbing. “I would take a chance. “
Saunders added: “He has every finish in his safe, both feet, headers, he went around the keeper, he closed the keeper, he broke the keeper, he scored remotely.
“We have seen him do every finish, but somehow he succeeds in calling on a miss – I don't know how often he hit the post and the crossbar last season.

“There is certainly a player in it, you look at him and think,” What a handful he is to play against. “
“He scored many goals for Benfica in his second season and a few seasons ago he received 20-one for Liverpool. It would not surprise me if Nunez goes somewhere else and will score 20 goals next season.”
With NUNEZ now of the books in Anfield, Liverpool is expected to sign a replacement before the transfer window will be closed next month. ISAK remains their primary target, but Newcastle does not want to sell their star starter and it has been thought that Liverpool would have to pay at least £ 150 million to bring the Sweden star to Merseyside.
