Mikel Arteta warned Rivals that Viktor Gyokees can 'destroy' the defense after he had scored his first Arsenal goal in their last fun season.

The Gunners signed the £ 64 million striker from Sporting Lisbon last month and ended an end for adding a NO9 to their ranks.

Gyokees made a 13-minute cameee on his debut for the North London club in a 1-0 defeat against North London Rivals Tottenham in Hong Kong, before he was also against Villarreal on Wednesday.

Yet he made it on the third time Lucky on Saturday with the visit of Athletic Bilbao. The 27-year-old scored the opener in their 3-0 Emirates Cup victory with a pounding header of fellow summer signed on the cross of Martin Zubimendi.

Gyokeres scored only five times with his head to exercise over 102 performances in Portugal – which leads to Jibes from rival supporters that the new frontman of Arsenal cannot do headers.

However, he proved that doubters were wrong with his goal. Bukayo Saka yielded a little later to set the Gunners to the break with 2-0 before Kai Havertz added a third late.

Arsenal will be confronted with Manchester United next Sunday in their Premier League opening competition.

Arteta said: 'That first goal is always very important. The way he also took it very well.

'Everything he does, his movement, timing, the way he predicts the next movement, where the space will be, that is the instinct that he has. That is why he scored so many goals in the last few seasons.

“He pins both central backs. He is a player who if you leave him with space against one, he will destroy you so that he will create a lot of room for us.

“In every situation there is a player who can score a goal.”
