Arsenal ‘close to reaching verbal agreement’ with in-demand Viktor Gyokeres

Arsenal is said to be close to the sealing of an agreement for much sought after sporting Lisbon Vooruit Viktor Gyokeres while they want to complete a double -attacking summer break.

The 27-year-old is one of Europe's most sought after strikers that scored 54 times in 52 performances last season in 52 performances and is strongly connected to a move to Arsenal or Manchester United.

The Swede is engaged in a spit with the director of Sporting about attempts to increase his potential reimbursement for a transfer.

Gyokeres is thought that he believes that he has reached a men's agreement with Sporting last summer so that they would accept compensation in the region of € 70 million (£ 60 million) including add-ons at the end of the season.

But exercising would hold a considerably higher fee.

Allegedly Gyokeres is set to stimulate the pre-season training of the Portuguese side and will try to force a movement.

And Arsenal are now close to reaching a verbal agreement with Gyoke's agent Hasan Cetinkaya, according to L'Equipe.

The Gunners also look at Monaco -attacking midfielder Maghnes Akliouche, who is said to be the target of interest in Manchester United, Manchester City, Nottingham Forest and Tottenham.

Monaco seems to be settled in losing the France Under-21 star, which they appreciate at around € 70 million (£ 60 million).

Last season the Frenchman scored seven goals and provided assists in 43 games in all competitions for the Ligue 1 side.

The side of Arteta would like to strengthen their attack after an injured campaign at the top saw their title offer unravel.

A movement for Gyokeres now seems more and more likely, with the Swede who is not satisfied with comments from sporty President Frederico Varandas.

Speaking of a transfer, Varandas said: 'Exercising is calm about this issue. Secondly, Sport does not have to sell Viktor Gyokeres. Fortunately we are past the sale phase of the sale of our main capacity.

'However, we remain sensitive to the dreams of Viktor or those of another athlete. Sport has made a commitment that after weeks of meetings we will not demand the full amount of the clause; We will be reasonable with regard to the requested amount for Viktor. '

Although Varandas acknowledged that Gyokees will probably leave, he stated that the reimbursement will be much higher than the potential price of £ 60 million plus £ 10 million in add-ons.

He also claimed that Gyokees is worth more than Matheus Cunha, who came to Manchester United of Wolves for £ 62.5 million.

Varandas said: 'Today there is a strong chance that he will leave. I will not reveal the amount, but the player knows what it is. I can say that Viktor will not leave for 60+10m. He will not leave, absolutely not.

'We watched the market and I saw [Martin] Zubimendi, who is six months younger than Viktor, leaves for € 65 million. I saw Matheus Cunha and Bryan Mbeumo, both ahead, but who in my opinion does not have the market value or quality of Viktor, who negotiated around € 75 million.

“Given the demands we consider honestly, I believe that Viktor could leave – unless he has the worst agent in the world, which is difficult for me to believe because he is one of the best football players in the world.”
