Arsenal confirm fifth summer signing as Cristhian Mosquera joins for £13m from Valencia to provide defensive depth

Arsenal has confirmed their fifth signing of the summer, in which Spain comes Youth International Crithian Mosquera from Valencia.

As Mail Sport reported on Sunday, the lectures went up during the weekend and the 21-year-old personal conditions had agreed with Arsenal.

He was expected to undergo a medical this week, although the clubs had ironed the final details on a fee of £ 13 million with added bonus payments.

Arsenal wanted to add a defender to compete with William Saliba and Gabriel Magalhaes.

Mosquera can play back both in the middle and immediately and will fill the gap in the team that has been left behind the departure of Takehiro Tomiyasu, which mutually agreed to end his contract.

The Spain Under-21 International has made 90 performances for Valencia and was a fixed time last season and played the full match in 37 of the 38 LA Liga matches of the club.

Arsenal confirmed the news in a social media video of 52 seconds, in which Mosquera said: 'It means a lot to me. I come to a historic, massive club. When the coach and sports director show that faith in you, it really helped me to convince to get here.

'When you arrive here with your family, you really feel the greatness of this place. I am very happy to be here. '

The Gunners had already signed Martin Zubimendi, Noni Madueke, Christian Norgaard and Kepa Arrizabalaga this summer.

Their main target, however, is Viktor Gyokeres, with his arrival that will be confirmed soon.
