ARSENAL have contacted Manchester United over a shock move from Marcus Rashford, it is shockingly claimed.
The England international sensationally announced at the end of last year that he is looking for a “new challenge”.
Several clubs in Europe are keen to sign the 27-year-old striker, who has fallen down the Old Trafford pecking order following the arrival of Ruben Amorim.
And it is claimed the Gunners have made their interest in signing the United outcast known to the Red Devils.
During an appearance on Calciomercato – L'origine Live, Italian reporter Massimo Marianella, as relayed by Spazioj, said: “It looks like Arsenal have called Manchester United for Rashford.
“The club has valued him at £25m.”
The Emirati faithful were quick to react to the prospect of Rashford arriving in north London.
One wrote on X: “We already have a winger that we don't use.”
Another said: “We all know this is going to happen.”
And another said: “This would be the greatest Arsenal signing of all time.”
One commented: “90% of Arsenal fans knew. Nothing shocking for our club anymore.”
Another chimed in: “Crazy, crazy window. Brace yourselves, guys.”
United Academy graduate Rashford announced his intention to leave the club in an unauthorized interview last December.
His announcement came after he was banned by Ruben Amorim.
He told journalist Henry Winter: “For me personally, I think I am ready for a new challenge and the next steps.
“When I leave, it will be: 'No hard feelings.' “You won't get any negative comments from me about Manchester United.
“That's me as a person. “If I know a situation is already bad, I'm not going to make it worse.
“I've seen other players leave in the past and I don't want to be that person.
“When I leave, I will make a statement, and it will be mine.”
Amorim said of the interview: “It's a difficult situation.
“I understand that these players have a lot of people around them who make choices that are not the player's first idea.
“They chose to do the interview because it wasn't just Marcus.”
He later added: “Right now I'm focused on improving Marcus.
“We need a talented man like Marcus. I'll forget about the interview now and see what I see on the field.”
Coincidentally, United are back in action against Arsenal in the third round of the FA Cup at the Emirates on Saturday.
