Arsenal wants to sign Leroy Sane on a free transfer that Mikel Arteta would see reuniting with another former Star of Manchester City. The Gunners are planning to make a quick start of the summer transfer window, after they have agreed personal conditions with Real Sociedad -midfielder Martin Zubimendi prior to activating his £ 51 million release clause.
The next priority of Mikel Arteta is to renew his goal-sex attack. Arsenal is expected that he will finally be a striker this summer, but Arteta also wants to aim a winger – and that is where Sane enters.
The 29-year-old is on the way to become a free agent next month when his contract with Bayern Munich ends. Sane's agent would meet Bayern Chiefs on Wednesday to discuss his future, with earlier conversations that did not result in an agreement.
It was claimed this week that Noord -London Tottenham had had the opportunity to sign Sane, because the uncertainty about his future continues. If the German International does not sign a new deal, it will be available for a free transfer.
It reports Times that Arsenal shows a strong interest in Sane, where various other teams keep an eye on his situation. But Arteta could use his personal touch to get a deal over the line, after he had already signed ex-City Sterren Gabriel Jesus and Oleksandr Zinchenko.
The Arsenal manager coached Sane at Etihad before he came to Bayern in 2020 for a first £ 41 million. His current contract, which will expire on June 30, sees him £ 220,000 a week. Earlier this month, the newly crowned Bundesliga champions made a proposal worth around £ 153,000 a week plus around £ 90,000 in weekly bonuses.
However, Sane is not the only option of Arsenal. The report adds that the Gunners are old admirers of Athletic Bilbao-Sterlet Nico Williams and met the representatives of the Spaniard in April.
Williams, 22, has a release clause of £ 42 million, but he demands wages of more than £ 250,000 a week. Barcelona tried to sign him last summer, but President Joan Laporta recently confirmed that he is no longer considered a target.

Bayern sports director Christoph Freund gave an update about the future of the winger after their 4-0 win against Hoffenheim on the last day of the Bundesliga-chat season.
“There is currently no agreement, that is true,” Freund revealed to Sky Germany. “The conversations have been going on for a while, but they are good conversations. We will see if there will be an agreement in the coming days or weeks.”
