Arsenal eye Alexander Isak alternative amid striker ‘already signed’ claims

Arsenal will bring in a productive frontman this summer and, despite ties with Alexander Isak, the club has had to consider other goals with Hugo Ekitike from Frankfurt now on their radar

Arsenal is ready to go after Frankfurt Hitman Hugo Ekitike, while considering alexander Isak alternatives to their bow. The Gunners seem to be ready to fall short of the Premier League title race for a third year on the leap and it is their lack of a productive goal scorer who cost them this term.

After years of not signing a renowned No. 9, this summer is seen as the time that Mikel Arteta will finally act. Ekitike now comes up as a leading candidate while his stock in Germany continues to rise.

Various Premier League clubs love the Frenchman, where Frankfurt has to demand around £ 60 million if the player has to leave, the sun reports.

The 22-year-old scored this period 19 times and recently hit a hat trick for the U21s of France when they defeated England. Ekitike only moved to the Bundesliga outfit of PSG last summer, but could be moving again.

Arsenal had to search the market where Isak became an increasingly difficult target to secure. The Swede enjoys his best season so far in St James' Park and the club has hit a premium of £ 150 million when the striker becomes one of the world's most sought after players.

Isak scored in the Carabao Cup final when Newcastle defeated Liverpool to win a first trophy in more than half a century. The club has enormous ambitions and catching silverware can catapult to the next level with Isak key to their plans.

It would require a British record transfer if Arsenal was to land Isak and as a result they started looking at who they could look even more to lead their line. Frankfurt is willing to renounce their top players for the correct fee. Manchester City was able to land Omar Marmoush in January after his efforts at the Bundesliga outfit.

Arteta had looked forward in the new year and the Gunners were associated with people like Viktor Gyokeres, but they remain without a fit striker. The issue is so striking that former player Martin Keown is convinced that a frontman has already been signed – even though no announcement has been made.

He said on TNT sports: “I would like to propose that a player has already been bought and this has already been done from the point of view of Arsenaal. They will no longer make that mistake.”
