Arsenal will pursue the transfer of Ebereechi Eze this summer, but the Crystal Palace star is also on the radar of Bayern Munich after they have missed Florian Wirtz
Arsenal could be confronted with new competition in their attempt to land Ebereechi Eze from Crystal Palace, with Bayern Munich joined the hunt after they have missed several of their goals.
The Gunners have identified the Aas of Eagles as someone they want to add this summer. Eze has enjoyed several great years in Selhurst Park, which has attracted many admiring looks with Bayern among them.
12 months ago they robbed the Premier League club for Michael Olise and could now return to Eze. The German giants have been largely unsuccessful so far with their most important summer goals. They were looking for Florian Wirtz, but lost from Liverpool.
The Bavarians also wanted Nico Williams, just like Arsenal, but the Spanish winger has chosen to stay with Athletic Bilbao, so that both clubs have revised their options. And now the athletics understands that Bayern can match the Gunners for the signature of Eze and this summer Leroy Sane has lost after his move to Galatasaray.
Eze, who was released by Arsenal at the age of 13, is supposed to have a release clause of £ 67.5 million in his contract, which runs until 2027. Palace will not accept anything less and wait in the wings his Tottenham, who has a long -term interest in Eze.
According to reports, Arsenal wants to pay the Eze Vrijgav clause in three episodes of approximately £ 20 million, making it up to £ 60 million. They have already added Martin Zubimendi and also want to sign Viktor Gyokeres. However, adding more quality to the flanks is also on their shortlist.
A successful pursuit of Eze would bring their summer spending to the north of £ 150 million. Palace will be less busy for selling, provided Marc Guehi completes his move to Liverpool. The defender's contract ends and the FA Cup winners are willing to cash in before they lose him for free.
Eze was the competition winner in the FA Cup final who also scored in the semi-final and, if he continues, had the chance to play with the Eagles in Europe. The club is currently trying to fight the right to compete in the midst of recent multi-club ownership problems.
He said: “I really hope that that is not the case and I hope that Palace will receive the reward for that (FA Cup victory), because of what was needed to achieve it actually. It would be a huge shame if that was the case, but I trust that it will eventually work. It will eventually work.
