Arsenal fans baffled by David Raya’s bizarre penalty technique as keeper goes wrong way EVERY TIME in Man Utd loss

ARSENAL fans couldn't believe David Raya's bizarre penalty technique.

And it didn't help that he went the wrong way for all five of Manchester United's penalties.

After a blockbuster, brutal 1-1 draw, the huge FA Cup third round tie between the two giants had to be decided in a shootout.

Kai Havertz was the only man to miss as Joshua Zirzkee fired home the all-important fifth penalty for United to book their place in the fourth round against Ruud van Nistelrooy's Leicester.

The Dutch forward enjoyed his moment in the spotlight, while United's back-up goalkeeper Altay Bayindir showed heroics to be named man of the match. He denied Havertz after saving from Martin Odegaard during regular time.

But as United fans celebrated their victory, many Arsenal supporters lamented the efforts of their own goalkeeper.

Raya, 29, managed to dive the wrong way ahead of Bruno Fernandes, Amad Diallo, Leny Yoro, Lisandro Martinez and Zirkzee.

But not only did he manage to achieve a far from impressive success rate of zero percent, it was also the way he jumped the line that confused his supporters.

Raya apparently made up her mind early on.

But it looked like he took a few shuffling sidesteps across his goal line before taking a huge dive and landing all the way to the post on some penalties.

With Yoro, for example, he had already taken the steps and started pushing off before the defender kicked the ball, allowing the Frenchman to punch the ball helplessly into the opposite corner.

And it sparked a wave of comments from viewers who noticed it on social media, including calling it “hilarious” and a “disgrace.”

One said: “Where is Raya going?”

Another wrote: “Why was Raya diving so early on some of them anyway?”

A third added: “What's wrong with David Raya anyway? It's like when you move the goalkeeper in FIFA.”

One United fan joked: “Thanks Raya. You are a good guy.”

A fifth replied: “Almost all his rescue attempts looked like something out of a comic book. Horrible.”

A sixth commented: “Raya really dived the wrong way with 5/5 pins, hands down the worst keeper for pins.”

A seventh joked: “Raya dives before the player even puts the ball down.”

An eighth tweeted: “Raya diving in this video is like clicking the wrong button while playing a game of FIFA.”

A ninth moaned: 'Diving for a second before the penalty is taken is not the approved method.'

And one end user commented: “Raya jumps out of the way?”
