Arsenal fans fear they will have to give title rivals LIV a guard of honour

Arsenal -fans have been left and fear that they should give Liverpool an honorary guard when the Premier League title rivals meet in May.

Arne Slot's Reds clearly moves 11 points at the top of the table after a convincing 2-0 win over Manchester City on Sunday evening.

Goals of Mohammed Salah and Dominik Szoboszlai closed the victory for the visitors, who created a much -needed breathing space and second place Arsenaal.

The Gunners have spent another campaign chasing the Premier League leaders, who have previously fell short in the last two seasons.

And the fears arise in the fan base that if they don't catch up with Liverpool, the Reds will give an honorary guard when they collide in May.

The side of Mikel Arteta will travel to Anfield on 10 May, where three more games remain in the season.

By that moment, the Reds could have closed the league title – which means that Arsenal should give them an honorary guard.

It would be the second time in recent years that Arsenal would have done this, because he had also given an honorary guard in 2020.

After sealing a historical league title, Liverpool traveled – then managed by Jurgen Klopp – to the Emirates and received the Wacht Pre -Match.

Responding to the news of that Arsenal might have to do it again, a fan wrote: 'We may have to give a liverpool an honorary guard' accompanied by a poison of a man who looks disappointed.

Another said: “We're going to give Liverpool an honorary guard after the second 3 seasons ending in a row.”

In the meantime, some Liverpool fans were fast in the reactions and enjoyed the frustrations of the arsenal supporters.

'I just remembered that Arteta already gave us an honorary guard, and he will probably do it again in Gameweek 36 in Anfield. 2 honorary guards, 0 PL titles'.

Another wrote: “Saka hopefully fits in on time to give us the guard of honor.”

In the meantime, Gary Neville tore in Arsenal after their defeat by West Ham and argued that an 'obsession' with one facet of their game was miserable in the Premier League title race.

He compared their apparent failures to capture the title in the 2015-16 season, when Leicester walked away with it and the expected contenders went out with a whimmer.

“Arsenal has become quite rigid, pretty turgid to watch,” said Manchester United's legend on the Gary Neville podcast.

'This obsession with set pieces that overtake the entire game, exacerbated by the presence of the set piece coach (Nicolas Jover) on the touchline and sets more focus on set pieces.

'And I know they have lost Saka, (Gabriel) Jesus and (Kai) Havertz (Bukayo), who are great strokes and that is a big problem for Arsenal, but I still feel they work against the West Ham Ham at home '.
