Leroy Sane is available to leave Bayern Munich on a free transfer at the end of the current season, where Arsenal is connected to the German International among the clubs
Bayern Munich sports director Christoph Freund has suggested that the club is prepared for Leroy Sane to leave the club this summer. The Germany wing player, who joined Manchester City in 2020, no longer has a contract this summer and can leave for nothing if no extension has been agreed.
Sane is linked to Arsenal, in a potential reunion with Mikel Arteta. Gunners -Manager Arteta was a large part of Sane's time in the Etihad Stadium in City and left a few months before the former Schalkeman to take over in North Londs in December 2019.
Although his contract has risen in the summer, Sane continued to play this period regularly under Vincent Kompany. He has 11 goals in 28 Bundesliga traps this period, including one in the 3-3 draw at RB Leipzig that – combined with Leverkusen's draw in Freiburg the next day – confirms the Kompany side as champion.
When he was asked about the future of Sane, Freund stopped briefly to confirm his exit, but did not give any indication that the player could get stuck. “Yes, absolutely,” he said. When asked whether Bayern was willing to lose the star for nothing. “We always explore and explore the market. If a new situation occurs, we should work intensively on it.”
Sane is not the only extraordinary Bayern player who leaves this summer. England International Eric Dier has been with the club since January 2024, but is expected to become a member of Monaco this summer.
“We had discussions with Eric about a new contract,” said Freund van Dier. “He told us that he does not want to extend and leave us. He is a great guy. We had a great time together. Hopefully he will be awarded his time with his first title,” added the Bayern Chief before the action of the weekend, and animal will indeed leave like a Bundesliga champion.
Sane and Dier both no longer have a contract halfway through the World Cup, where Bayern is signed in a group with Boca Juniors, Auckland City and Benfica. Although clubs are allowed to match short extensions with extraordinary contracts for the tournament, it is unclear what will happen to the Bavarian Club.
Early in his Bayern Correction, Sane spoke the influence that Arteta had on his career. “I can just say positive things about Mikel Arteta. Since we started working, he has helped me a lot on the field,” he told The Independent.
“He tried to improve my football, he told me what I was doing well and what I was doing wrong, and he tried to work on it. In addition to Pep they both really helped me and improved me to take me to the next level.
'Even now, at Arsenal, you can see for me that he is doing great. You can see that he has a concept, a way he wants to play, a way in which he wants his team to play, and of course it will take some time until everyone really understands. I think he will do a great job as a [head] Coach too. “
