Arsenal has been busy on the transfer market and their work may not have been completed because they are still being linked to new signing sessions, including Crystal Palace -star Ebereechi Eze
Breaher Lookman is one of the players who are linked to Arsenal this month, trying to find a way out from Atalanta. But the Gunners must keep their focus on Ebereechi Eze according to the former Arsenal Ace Jermaine Pennant.
Former Everton and Charlton Winger Lookman was raised as a potential alternative to Crystal Palace Star Eze. After binding Ethan Nwaneri to a new deal, it is proposed that Mikel Arteta and Andrea Berta can be focused on a player who is suitable for a wider role that look man seems to fulfill.
The Serie A -star has been furiously left by the refusal of his current club to agree a deal to facilitate his departure, after an agreement with the board. As a result, the 27-year-old has submitted a transfer request.
But for Wimpel, a movement to sign lookman would not move the needle. The ex-liverpool midfielder thinks he would add depth to the Arteta team, but would not help their team in their search to win the competition.
“Lookman is a good player and he did well at Atalanta, but you have to think about whether he can do it consistently in the Premier League and whether he is proven in the competition. He is much better than [Leandro] Trossard?, “Said Pennant aceodds.com.
“He would be another signing that could add in -depth strength, but it would not make me think that Arsenal is now winning the competition. Arsenal now needs top players.”
Instead, Pennant is of the opinion that the Gunners should focus on adding Eze to their ranks. The Pundit thinks it would alleviate the burden that would currently alleviate on Arsenal captain Martin Odegaard.
“Personally, Arsenal would have to sign,” said Pennant. “He adds much more flair in midfield. In the past I have the feeling that they have trusted heavily on Odegaard to be the maker around the box.
“Eze fits perfectly with the creative mold. He can bring in players, he can help, he takes the ball up and drives past players and we know he can score goals. For me that is a very good signature and a signature that raises Arsenal.”
“Look at the numbers handed over for players,” he added. “£ 70 million, £ 80 million, even in the £ 90 million. Eze for £ 68 million is a good thing. You would be happy with that. Liverpool has sold Diaz for £ 65 million. If you want to be competitive, you have to start paying the dollar and Arsenal his resistent to spend the money for the money.”
