Arsenal in Alexander Isak blow as Newcastle demand second highest transfer fee in HISTORY to sell star striker

Arsenal has had a blow in their hope for Alexander Isak to make their new NO9.

Newcastle makes no sense to sell the star and wants to build a team around him instead.

And it would almost double the £ 82.9 million reimbursed for them to even respond to possible bids.

That means that the Swede would be the second most expensive player ever – in Between Paris Saint -Germain's £ 198m from Neymar from Barcelona in 2017 and the £ 163 million PSG paid Monaco for Kylian Mbappe in 2018.

Isak, 25, has emerged as one of the most bound players on the planet since his club record £ 63 million arrival from Real Sociedad in 2022.

He became the first tone player since legend Alan Shearer two decades ago to achieve 20 Premier League goals in the past term.

This season he is already at 17 at the top of the top and also wants to reach the icon status by ending the 70-year-old large trophy-dried of Newcastle in the final of the Carabao Cup next month.

His red -hot form on Tyneside, however, has attracted the attention of a large number of clubs on the continent, but it is the most important rivals of tone that are most connected.

Arsenal is desperately looking for a striker with their lack of someone in it to cost them again in the title race.

They have viewed a long -term interest and are supposed to prepare a blow for later this year.

In the meantime, Wembley opponents Liverpool and Chelsea would both also like to sign him.

However, Newcastle is not under pressure to sell and have bound the hotshot to a contract that is supposed to be £ 130,000 a week until 2028.

Despite reports that claim that Isak wants to “make a leap forward” and that he could leave if an “honest proposal” would be received if they do not qualify for the Champions League, their position is exactly the opposite.

A number of £ 82.9 million was advertised – but Newcastle is not interested in making only £ 20 million profit on Isak.

Even if they do not finish in the top five, the club has come through three tough transfers players without major additions to strengthen their PSR position.

And Eddie Howe is not only determined to hold on to Isak, he hopes to finally be able to get various new additions to compliment the will of the forward, Bruno Guimaraes and Anthony Gordon.

Newcastle is always relaxed about the contract situation of Isak, even when the provisional conversations about a new package stopped last year because of the duration of its current one.

Although further discussions are affected as soon as this season has ended.

Speaking about the situation earlier in the campaign, said Newcastle -Baas Howe: “I think he has a long contract with Alex and we really have to be careful with regard to our expenses due to PSR. It is not a clear situation.

“Of course we love him and his desperate looking for him to stay in Newcastle for many years and to score loads and many goals for us, but I don't see any problem with his contract in the short term.”

Isak himself also stated that he does not think about his future and says in December: “During my career I have never talked about or have really responded to the rumors during the season.

“There have been many years in which it was spoken.

“It has no influence on me. I comment on my situation in Newcastle and I have never had a problem there.

“I am fully focused on my task there and that we will have a fantastic season.

“There are still big opportunities for that. I have no thoughts about anything else.

“The only thing I can say is that there are often a lot of information and rumors.

“Much of what I read is not true. So that's about everything I can say about the whole thing.”
