Arsenal wanted to sign Benjamin Sesko this summer, but withdrew and Newcastle now regards him as a potential replacement for Alexander Isak, who thinks about an exit
Newcastle stands for the prospect of losing Alexander Isak this summer – and among those set up to replace it, RB Leipzig frontman Benjamin Sesko is.
The Slovenian is seen as one of the best young strikers in Europe and he is connected to a number of Premier League parties. Arsenal made him their top objective earlier this summer before he later turned Viktor Gyokeres from Sporting Lisbon and landed.
Their reason to go after the Swede, instead of Sesko, it was thought that it was influenced by his wage requirements. The Leipzig star continues to take effect, but the Gunners thought he demanded too much for a player who is still 22 and is developing.
It means that he stays on the market and Leipzig has continued to show that they will sell their top players for the correct fee. Sesko – who is recently Red Bull Chief Jurgen Klopp “really impressed” – is now on the Shortlist of Newcastle and they can penetrate if a large void appears in their forward line.
Eddie Howe is praised for how he bought a number of players, so Newcastle has made a Champions League outfit. And now he could have the opportunity to do this again with Sesko and prove that he is indeed the Waard that the investment that Arsenal did not choose not to make. The magpies should probably tear their wage structure if they wanted to land the Slovenia International.
Newcastle will eventually only try to sign the star, which last season scored 13 goals in 33 Bundesliga performances, when Isak leaves. The Swede has informed the club that he wants to explore his options from St James' Park with Liverpool now circling.
It will probably take a British record offer to convince the Magpies to sell their leading light, which they appreciate at around £ 150 million. Once they have received such fees, they can choose to sell the money and invest in their team again, what signing sessions such as Sesko, as well as others could make.
Howe has known that the club is struggling with Newcastle that is struggling with Newcastle in the recent windows. Anthony Elanga's £ 55 million imprisonment increases their attack, but they need a central point as Isak decides to look for new meadows.
He said: “We know we have to bring in players. We know that for a long time. We have done a lot of work (at the end of last season) we knew what we wanted. But it was a challenging transfer window. Let's see what we can do.”
