Since Edu announced he was leaving Arsenal, the Premier League has put together a shortlist to replace him. The names on that list seem to be multiplying. AS Monaco CEO Thiago Scuro has been linked with the role, as has Paris Saint-Germain's Luís Campos.
Another Ligue 1 director has now been linked with the soon-to-be-vacated role at the Emirates Stadium: Stade Brestois' Grégory Lorenzi. The sporting director has been a key figure in Brest's meteoric rise from relegation candidates to UEFA Champions League participants.
Lorenzi has previously been linked with the likes of Stade Rennais, RC Lens and OGC Nice, but in light of interest from elsewhere he opted to remain in Brest this summer as they prepare for their first ever European adventure.
Foot Mercato now understands that Lorenzi is also on the list to replace Edu at Arsenal, although he is far from the only one.
