Real Madrid striker Rodrygo Goes seems destined to leave the club this summer, but where he is going, is a question that considerably more difficult every exit. The Brazilian was heavy last summer, with Liverpool and Manchester City who looked at a deal, but that is no longer the case.
Although the new manager Xabi Alonso claimed that Rodrygo would be 'important' in his side, the 24-year-old attacker only started one of the six Real Madrid matches in the club World Cup. Returning to the final of Copa del Rey, his start against Al-Hilal is his only one in the 11 games. Los Blancos will meet Rodrygo to discuss his future this week.
The main bed with Rodrygo was Arsenal. The Gunners were reportedly interested in him, but not for the price tag of € 90 million that Real Madrid set him up. Cadena Ser says it is too high for the Premier League parties that are interested in him, and that Arsenal is no longer seriously considering a movement for him. Their deals for Viktor Gyokeres and Noni Madueke from Chelsea have considerably reduced the need to sign Rodrygo, although they say that the opportunities are not completely dead in the water.
More recently, Rodrygo was associated with a move to Liverpool, who informed his availability last summer. But after having spent great on Florian Wirtz, they now chase Alexander Isak from Newcastle United, who would be both club record offers. If they brought in Isak, that would also close Liverpool as an option.
