Arsenal news: Gunners given injury boost as Real Madrid star sends warning

The Mikel Arteta team is preparing for a crucial Champions League collision against Real Madrid this week after gaining a 3-0 lead in the first stage, but the Spaniard has a few worried about the game

Arsenal has only a few days before their crucial Champions League twist against Real Madrid on Wednesday, where the Gunners have a vital 3-0 lead prior to the trip to the Spanish capital.

The men of Mikel Arteta followed that pounding first leg win with a 1-1 draw at home to Brentford. The Spaniard has made a large number of changes in an attempt to place the strongest possible side on the Bernabeu this week.

But there were still some worries in injuries after two players – Jorginho and Thomas Peny – were forced to be injured during the Brentford match, while Ben White was excluded before the kick -off.

While the countdown remains until Arsenal's huge game in Spain, Mirror Football has collected some of the largest Gunners news and gossip.

Parey Latchaast

The midfielder was one of Arsenal's injuries after the game to the bees when Arteta said he “felt something” and was forced to get rid of in the 69th minute, only eight minutes after he had given his side.

Arteta said in his press conference after the competition: “He felt something, so we didn't want to take any risks.”

When asked if he would be fit for the trip to Madrid this week, he added: “We don't know, I have not yet spoken to the doctors. So they will now check him and see how he is.”

But although there are still concerns about White and Jorginho, according to Football London there have been signs that the injury of Pitey could be less serious than the first thought.

A report said that after the Brentford match with reporters, Pitey spoke with reporters in the mixed zone, and added that players who suffered bad injuries usually avoid interviews after the game with the press.

Vasquez warns Gunners

Madrid seems to be growing in confidence that they could get a stunning comeback against Arsenal this week.

Carlo Ancelotti has already said that the team believes they can turn things around, while Jude Bellingham has also fired a warning on Arsenal – insist that “crazy things can happen” in the Bernabeu.

And now Lucas Vasquez has joined the choir of Optimism from the Camp Madrid by insisting that if there is a club that can destroy a 3-0 shortage, it is Los Blancos.

“It is difficult, but if there is a team in the world that can turn this situation around, we are on our land for our home fans,” he said.

“We will see a different game on Wednesday and if we all stay together, we will get through it.”

Arsenal Shortlist Hato

Arsenal is confronted with a big summer in the transfer window after he fell further behind Liverpool in the title race after their draw against Brentford this weekend.

The Gunners know that the Premier League title race is almost over, now all their focus on their Champions League campaign.

But they will still prepare for a huge season next year, where they will believe that they have every chance to challenge Liverpool as long as they reinforce in important areas.

A striker was rather the most important focus and priority for the club, but Mirror Football reported this week that they are also open to strengthen their defense, with Ajax star Jorrel Hato a target.

Promising Holland International Hato has been on the Gunners' Radar since the end of 2023, but there is still a movement to materialize and he has since gone into force in Amsterdam, where he is seen as an important player among boss Francesco Faroli.

This season, the 19-year-old started 24 games in the Eredivisie-otherwise-otherwise behind but he is also able to play in the middle. He has two goals and six assists.
