Arsenal prepare club record Nico Williams offer to break transfer deadlock

Arsenal is willing to make a daring move to end a summer transfer for athletic club star Nico Williams.

The Spain International was openly chased last summer by Barcelona after its UEFA Euro 2024 title win with La Roja.

However, the Catalan giants are not expected, reassesses their interest in him, with a link to Arsenal that extends for more than 12 months.

From the incoming weeks it is expected that the Gunners will intensify their drive to take him to London for the 2025/26 campaign with the new sports director Andrea Berta who leads the negotiations.

The Gunners could be willing to pay more than his release clause of € 60 million in the summer to obtain more favorable payment conditions, so that they can structure payments for the duration of Williams's potential contract, instead of paying the full amount in advance.

That is an opening that is being investigated in London and Bilbao, because the two clubs are looking for a solution that benefits all parties involved.

There is a growing feeling that Arsenal is hardly in their pursuit of Williams, where Bayern Munich decides not to act on their interest in the 22-year-old, but finances will still play an important role.

According to reports from the Daily Telegraph, paying the Williams release clause is only one of the steps needed at the end of Arsenal, including a bumper wage package.

The current Deal of Williams in Bilbao sees him a bag considerably more than £ 100,000 a week after tax, largely because of the unique tax policy in the Basque Country.

This may mean that a request for Williams is placed alongside Arsenal's best earners, including Declan Rice, Bukayo Saka and Captain Martin Odegaard, around £ 250,000 a week.

Kai Havertz is currently the number 1 of Arsenal, at £ 280,000 a week, but Arsenal may have to beat that to secure Williams.
