Arsenal reportedly comes after signing the Teenage Forward Will Wright from Salford City, after Liverpool had ended their interest.
Mail Sport reported this week that the Gunners had checked in at the League Two Club last week about Wright.
The 17-year-old had been the subject of interest of Premier League-rival Liverpool and Man City.
Liverpool had been in pole position, in which the ruling champions had submitted an offer of around £ 100,000 with another £ 200,000 in add-ons.
According to the Athletic, the pursuit of Liverpool has now ended with Arsenal who insists to secure the signing of Wright.
The attacker is said to be the target of Arsenal Academy Manager per push of Mertesacker to sign elite talent, with the former defender giving a budget to strengthen their youth teams.
Wright is said to be for both the under-18s and the 21s if he moved to Arsenal and continued his progress.
Last Friday, the teenager scored his fourth goal in Salford's Friendly in York City in a week before the game was abandoned after a Salford player was reportedly racist.
Arsenal Scouts had been present during the game to watch Wright.
Wright scored his fourth goal in a match, after a brace against FC United of Manchester and an attempt against Ashton United, with both games that ended in a 2-2 draw.
The attacker made his senior debut as a late replacement in the 8-0 defeat of Salford by Man City in the FA Cup in January.
Since then he has made three performances for the first team of the club.
