Arsenal would like to continue to add a new winger to their team prior to the transfer deadline of next month, but rejected a deal in which defender William Saliba would be involved
Arsenal reportedly rejected a sensational Swap dealer offer from Real Madrid with William Saliba and Rodrygo. The Gunners have been associated with a move for the Brazilian all summer, whereby Mikel Arteta wants to add a new winger to his team prior to next month's deadline.
And Madrid tried to benefit from that interest by suggesting a stunning Swap deal for William Saliba. The Frenchman is one of the most important goals of the Spanish club to strengthen their defense.
They hoped to sign him for free in 2027 or for a lower fee next summer, when he would have another year about his contract in North Londen. But according to Marca via Sport Los Blancos has tried to speed up a movement.
The Spanish giants have proposed a Swap deal in which Rodrygo and Saliba are involved – albeit that the offer was immediately rejected by the Gunners. It is suggested that the defender remains happy in London and is currently not considering movement.
Asked for his future last season, he said Saliba: “For me I am really happy here. I have been here for two years and half a year. There is nothing. I am happy here and I want to continue here.
“I want to win big things with Arsenal. If you leave this club without winning anything, the fans will forget you. I want to win big things here.”
Asked if there had been conversations about a new contract with Arsenal, he replied: “Not yet. Because, yes, we have a few years [to go]. So there is no hurry at the moment. I'm happy here. That's it. “
In the meantime, Mikel Arteta recently said that he does not allow himself to be packed in too much transfer speculation now that the season has started. Speaking for Sunday's victory against Manchester United, he said: “I will leave that to Andrea and the club.

Elsewhere, the rejection of Arsenal leaves the future of Rodrygo at Real Madrid uncertain. He fell out of favor among the new boss Xabi Alonso.
Arsenal's Premier League -Rivalen Manchester City are also connected to Rodrygo, although Pep Guardiola wants to move players before he welcomes more new faces in the Etihad Stadium. The Brazilian winger has a contract with Real until 2028.
