Arsenal has seen an early exit for midfield star Jorginho while the Italy International leaves before the end of his contract with the prospect that Martin Zubimendi arrives at the Emirates
Arsenal has confirmed that Jorginho was released from his contract after he has reached a mutual agreement to see him a free agent. The midfielder would leave at the end of the month when his contract ended, but has now made his exit prematurely and joined the Brazilian club Flamengo on time to appear in the club World Cup in the United States.
Jorginho came to the Gunners from Chelsea in January 2023 and made 78 performances for the club. The Italy -International arrives on time when Flamengo starts their campaign in the US against Es Tunis, while Jorginho could stand against Chelsea on 20 June, in the second game of the Brazilian side of the group stage.
Arsenal posts on social media: “The club can confirm that we have reached a mutual agreement with Jorginho to end his contract with immediate effect. Thanks for everything and the very best, Jorgi”
The side of Noord-London was very free of their former indictment and said in their explanation: “Jorginho (full name Jorge Luiz Frello Filho), soon became a hugely respected member of the team. His natural leadership skills, along with his control in midfield, intelligent positioning and extensive, high-quality pass, cared by”
“Everyone at Arsenal Football Club wants to thank Jorgi for his contribution to the club and we wish him and his family the very best for the future,” she added.
At the end of the month, the Gunners will say goodbye to 17 players, with Kieran Tierney joining Jorginho when leaving the Emirates. The Scotland star is ready to become a member of Celtic.
Speaking of his exit, Tierney said: “Thank you for everything from the first day. They supported us through the good times and the bad, and they also supported me through some difficult times.
“I think I am most grateful, the times when it was not so good or so easy for me is when they probably supported me the most, so I am just very grateful and I feel good luck that I have the support of them.
“I feel so happy that I played for this club and the love that the supporters gave has been great. I kept here every day and I have learned so much, I have improved so much and I just feel good luck.”
However, Arsenal will be busy this summer and seem to have a replacement of midfield for Jorginho. Martin Zubimendi is expected to arrive in North Londs.
It is said that the finishing accents are brought for a deal, although Thespain International has suggested that a switch from Real Sociedad is not guaranteed. The 26-year-old, who rejected the chance to move to Liverpool last August, told Radio Nacional when he was asked if he could stay in the Basque region.
“Of course there are options, but it is true that it looks like it will be another, long summer, and I don't know how it will end,” he said.
“I don't think I think about that, my priority. I am here with the national team, which I think is quite demanding, and if I have to say something, I will do that.”
