Arsenal set to be ‘busiest team of summer transfer window’ as Mikel Arteta plots mouthwatering spending spree

Arsenal will be the busiest team in the summer transfer window, according to it.

The title costs of the Gunners have fallen short this season due to their lack of an out-and-out striker.

Mikel Arteta is supposed to sign a new frontman in the summer, along with an extra defensive midfielder.

And Transferguru Fabrizio Romano has claimed that the Gunners are the most active club in the fast approach to the window.

When asked which club will be the busiest in the summer, the Italian told Givemesport: “I would certainly say that Arsenal.

“But Manchester United, Liverpool and Manchester City will also be very busy this summer.

“Chelsea will be there as usual with a few signing sessions.”

Arsenal is supposed to consider acquiring the services of Alexander Isak, Viktor Gyokeres or Benjamin Sesko.

Nico Williams from Athletic Bilbao would also be on Arteta's Summer Wishlist, which he will undoubtedly pass on to the new sports director Andrea Berta van de Gunners.

Arteta has already plagued several arrivals this summer and says: “It will be a big one and we are very enthusiastic about it.

“The way we had planned the five first summers would be very big and they would have different objectives.

“In the beginning there were many players with three, four or five -year contracts, so the team's reversal and how you visualize in the next five years was very dependent on that.

“There are certain positions that we did not expect that someone like Ethan Nwaneri or Myles Lewis-Skelly will contribute, which was great.

“The way you start evolving, you start to control certain things, then the changes cannot be that much. That is where we are.

“The line is now thinner, the margins are smaller. But the costs are also increasing. So it goes a bit in a different direction.

“We want to increase the depth of the team, but we also want to increase the quality and skills that we need to go to the next step.

“It is a big summer for many things, because we first have to maintain the right basis that we have and in any case how we can improve and evolve the team.”

Arsenal will be back in action on Saturday afternoon and travel to Goodison Park to take on Everton.
