Real Madrid are expected to aim to sign a new centre-back in 2025 as they are short-changed in this position due to the summer departures of Nacho Fernandez and Rafa Marin – and even more so in recent weeks as Eder Militao and David Alaba are both out available due to injury.
With no money spent over the summer, Real Madrid would make a major signing. William Saliba is reportedly one of the dream candidates, although the player himself admitted earlier this weekend (via MD) that he would be reluctant to leave Arsenal.
“I feel at home. I signed for the club five years ago, but it's only my third season and I'm enjoying everything: the players, the staff and the fans. I feel at home there, so why not (stay)?”
Getting Saliba away from Arsenal would be very difficult – and extremely expensive. However, no one would ban Real Madrid from doing this if they decide it is the right move.
