Arsenal star tops Real Madrid shortlist for 2026 move

Real Madrid looks like they will prevent them from following a signing at the middle this summer, despite doubts about their depth in the position. Los Blancos chose not to reinforce after Nacho Fernandez had left and Leny Yoro went to Manchester United and has since been thin.

Eerer Militao sustained a second cruciate ligament injury in successive seasons earlier this year and ruled him for the rest of the season. In the meantime, Veteran presence David Alaba spent 13 months on the sidelines with his own cruciate ligament and meniscus operation, and since then only since then started since then.

Jesus Vallejo has been suitable for most of the season, but not familiar by Carlo Ancelotti, is limited to only 10 minutes of action, which leads to the use of Aurelien Tchouameni in defense and the rise of Raul Asencio next to Antonio Rudiger. Asencio's turnout to the call means that Real Madrid will probably decide to re -report the reinforcement on the transfer market this summer.

That corresponds to a report from Relo that claims that they will move a center back in the summer of 2026. Alaba (32) and Rudiger (31) are both from the contract that summer, and although they could continue, it will only go deals for a year. They also fear that they are probably physically struggling in the coming seasons, and there is also concern about the recovery of Militao, since he will have gone for two seasons without consistent football.

As such, they will look for a younger defender, one in a favorable contract situation and at an affordable price. Los Blancos evaluate different options, but on top of their shortlist, Arsenal star William Saliba is standing. The Frenchman, 23, was from the contract in 2027, and Real Madrid would either want to move for a reduced price agreement, or convince him not to renew his contract with the Gunners.
