According to athletics, the side of Mikel Arteta remained interested in signing a striker and even considered signing the Spain captain Morata on loan until the end of the season.
The 32-year-old moved to AC Milan last summer, but played a bit of a role for the Serie A Giants and scored only five competition goals in 16 games.
The report claims that Arsenal showed interest in the dual Champions League winner, but eventually lost Galatasaray, who were much more emphatic in their desire to sign the attacker.
In the end, Arsenal chose not to sign another striker, so Kai Havertz showed the only fit recognized center in the team. Leandro Trossard is able to play in the position, but the Gunners are also light in the wide areas, with the injury to Saka.
The Arsenal boss would have been grateful on Sunday for their 5-1 routy from Manchester City, who talked about the need for a new man at the top.
Five different players came to the score sheet for the home team, including Havertz, who scored his 15th goal of the season.
