Arsenal to travel just 250 miles in next 13 matches thanks to favourable fixture
CHRISTMAS and New Year are some of the busiest times for people, with travel often being a big part of that schedule.
That rule often applies to football too, with Arsenal being no different when it comes to having a busy schedule.
But Arsenal have found some luck in their Christmas schedule, with a surprisingly low number of trips scheduled for the next thirteen games.
In fact, they will only travel outside London ONCE before January 22, with three away matches all taking place in the capital.
Their match against Brighton on January 4, 2025 will be the only Premier League match that is not a London derby away from home.
Arsenal will remarkably play nine matches at the Emirates Stadium, starting with Manchester United on Wednesday and ending with Dinamo Zagreb on January 22.
During the run they will travel just under 250 miles on the road.
Brighton alone will account for 280.4 kilometers of this total.
Meanwhile, Fulham, Crystal Palace and Brentford count 21.2, 26 and 24 miles respectively.
Mikel Arteta and his colleagues may have been fearing travel fatigue following an unfavorable FA Cup third round draw in tonight's draw.
However, they were spared any new travel arrangements in tonight's FA Cup third round draw when they were drawn against Manchester United at the Emirates.
It means they will play Crystal Palace and Man Utd twice during the run.
After their 5-2 win over West Ham on Saturday, which was a 19.8 mile journey in itself, Arsenal are nine points behind leaders Liverpool.
The beneficial planning of not traveling much could help them close that gap.
In the same period, Arne Slot's side travel to Newcastle, Girona, Southampton, West Ham, Nottingham Forest and Brentford – none of which are exactly around the corner.
Either way, Arsenal will be looking to take advantage and chase the leaders towards the end of the season, although a nine-point lead at this stage of the season has never been lost before in Prem's history.
