Arsenal told to revisit ex target to solve attacking woes – ‘Fantastic player’

Arsenal are being urged to renew their interest in Dusan Vlahovic by former defender Philippe Senderos, who believes the Juventus striker could prove the difference for Mikel Arteta's side.

The Gunners will remain without Bukayo Saka for several more weeks and Gabriel Jesus will not play again this season, placing an even heavier burden on Kai Havertz to find a more regular goal-scoring presence.

Arteta's players have often been linked with strikers over the past two years, including Vlahovic before he moved to Turin and became Serie A's highest-paid player.

But things have not gone perfectly for Vlahovic at the Old Lady and Senderos believes Arsenal should reconsider their options to bring him to north London.

“Dusan Vlahovic could take Arsenal closer to the title, but Mikel Arteta has a clear idea of how he wants to play and who he wants in that ninth position,” Senderos told CasinoHawks.

“We have seen Gabriel Jesus and Kai Havertz there, but Vlahovic is a fantastic player who has performed in the Italian league and has been a success. It's difficult to judge him this season but he could certainly have a big impact in the Premier League, why not.”

Serbian international Vlahovic, 24, has an asking price of around €65 million, according to Italian media, but it is more likely that Juventus will complete a deal in the summer.

Arsenal host Aston Villa this afternoon after leaders Liverpool take on Brentford, meaning they could both kick off seven points behind or have a chance to close the gap to one point.

But Senderos insists his former side are in the mix after winning the midweek derby in north London. “Arsenal is still in this title race. “I also think Manchester City will get back into it too,” he added.

“Liverpool have done very well and adapted well under Arne Slot, but anything can happen in the Premier League and it is far from over. “Nottingham Forest had a great opportunity to upset them and that made things even more exciting.”
